AIXO printed overgrips in bold colour clash designs

Overgrips for Club Kit: The Cheapest Fix on Your Equipment Order

Shared loan paddles wear grips fastest of all - re-gripping schedules, the ninety-second method, and AIXO grips in bulk.

At a glance: An overgrip costs a few pounds, fits in ninety seconds, and does more for paddle feel than anything else on your kit order. For clubs it's doubly important: shared loan paddles get sweated on by dozens of hands, and a slick, shiny handle quietly ruins the touch game for everyone who picks it up.

Grip condition is a control problem

Pickleball's scoring shots – dinks, drops, resets – are played with relaxed hands. When a grip goes glassy, players compensate by squeezing, and a clenched hand has no feel. A fresh overgrip restores the tack and cushioning that let a paddle sit securely in a loose hold, which is precisely where control comes from. On a club loan set, tired grips are the single most common (and cheapest to fix) equipment fault.

Re-gripping schedules

Individual players: every couple of months for casuals, monthly for weekly players, fortnightly for league regulars and hot-handed types. Club loan paddles work harder than any individual's – re-wrap them each term or half-season, and whenever you spot the warning signs: shine, slip, flattened cushioning or that dry cardboard texture where the tack used to be.

The ninety-second job

Strip the old tape. Anchor the new grip at the butt cap, tacky side inward, then spiral up the handle with a one-third overlap under light, even tension. Trim, seal the top edge with finishing tape, done. Show one volunteer how and your whole loan set gets refreshed in a single club night.

Why we stock AIXO's version

Performance-wise, AIXO overgrips are the standard tacky, sweat-absorbing tape – the difference is that the print is in the material itself, so Snakeskin, Smiley Ball, Fluo Pink Checker and dozens of other designs come with no penalty in tack or absorption. They wrap pickleball, padel, tennis, squash and badminton handles alike, and the mix 'n' match multipacks are the economical route for individuals. For clubs there's a practical bonus: wrap each loan paddle in a different design and kit tracking sorts itself out. We supply the full grip collection in bulk for club orders – and Game Grip Spray for the members whose hands run hot.

FAQ

Overgrip or full replacement grip?

Overgrip in almost every case – it wraps over the base handle, costs less and fine-tunes thickness. Replace the base grip only when it has genuinely died underneath.

How many overgrips should a club keep in stock?

One spare per loan paddle per term is a safe floor – a multipack or bulk box covers most clubs for a season.

Does an overgrip thicken the handle much?

Around 1/16" – imperceptible to most, and a positive for players who prefer a fuller handle.
